Assistant General Manager, Muncie Indiana Transit System

Amanda is the Assistant General Manager of the Muncie Indiana Transit System. Her main role is to oversee the daily administration of the Transit System, from planning employee insurance policies and assisting city auditors to preparing the office to submit grand proposals to the state.

My name's Amanda Price, and I am the assistant general manager for Muncie Indiana Transit System. So I am responsible for all of the insurance as far as the health insurance, and working with our agent to get the best pricing, and keep our renewals up to date. I might come in and have to respond to emails in regard to underground storage tanks, you know, and go back and forth, and work with our maintenance department to find records and verification. I had to provide files for our auditors, we're currently in the middle of a market research study, that we're paying a firm over 70 thousand dollars to conduct, so. I'm answering questions for those ladies, taking in the invoices and submitting those for payment, I'm the liaison for the MPO, metropolitan planning, here in Muncie. So, we sit on the tack board and we have to make sure that we coordinate with them to get all of that in the states plan so that when it's time for grants, it has to be in the state plan in order for us to submit our grant to get moneys for a new bus, or any other number of projects we're working on, so. I am out in the community, yes. I will attend meetings for Muncie community schools. When we were going through the process of them approaching us to carry the Jr. High students, we attended the school board meeting, in case anybody had any questions or concerns. I go to different marketing events, what is it, Muncie on the Move, those types of things, and we definitely try to be involved and show up in a multitude of areas.
